Also note I love my wife's Samick Sage Recurve, so it's not a brand preference thing. But when I picked them both up and tried them out, it was clear which one I preferred within 5 shots. There is no way I could have known I'd like my current longbow (a Frontier longbow by Fleetwood) better than the Samick Sage longbow without trying both of them at the club. If there's ONE piece of advice I could give you, I would say try before you buy. I don't think it's a bad buy, but it wasn't for me. I almost bought the Samick Sage longbow, but ended up liking a different longbow better. The longbow is also much lighter, which is a con for target accuracy, but a pro for long 4 hour shooting sessions if you're worried about your bow arm getting tired. The longbow is not a takedown, so you only get the draw weight you buy. You cannot add any accessories like a rest, plunger, stabilizer, or sight. It’s a one-piece bow built solely for the traditional crowd. On the longbow, you can only shoot off the shelf, and it is not cut anywhere close to center, and the shelf is very small. Handed Draw Weight Add to Cart Qty: Enquire Now Calculate Shipping Description Die-hard traditional archers will love the Samick Red Stag 60-inch recurve bows. On the recurve, you shoot off a shelf that is cut close to center, or you can shoot off a rest, and you can add a plunger and sight/clicker if you want, as well as a stabilizer. On the longbow the grip is more like a basic palm swell. The grip is more deeply contoured on the recurve. The grip is wooden and contoured on both, but the similarities end there. ![]() My wife owns a Samick Sage takedown recurve which I occasionally borrow, and I have shot the Samick Sage Longbow on two occasions.
